WPC-Treated Rod Bearing Set - M50, M52, M52TU, M54, M56, S50, S52

Our treated rod bearings are not coated; coatings tend to add too much material and interfere with proper tolerances, causing more problems than they solve. The bearings we use have been treated with a process that not only makes the grain structure in the surface of the bearing smoother, but also aids in oil retention, providing more lubricity in this critical area of your M50, S50, S52 engine. This set is also an upgrade for the M20 12 valve engine as well as M42 and M44 4 cylinder engines.

BimmerWorld Tip / Note: To further protect your engine and prevent failures, we highly recommend a premium-quality oil, such as Red Line with a higher zinc content. Correct oil operating temperature is 220°F+. Always let your car warm up properly before subjecting the engine to higher throttle angles and RPMs.

Bearings are sold by size. These are the standard 45.00mm inside diameter. Let us know if you need under-sized bearings.

Stock connecting rod bolts cannot be re-used. They are stretch-to-yield and must be replaced. Pick up new OE BMW bolts or strengthened ARP bolts (re-usable) from the links below.

Please note on 4 cylinder models that the package includes enough bearing shells for a 6 cylinder, so you will have extra bearing shells as a result.
