BimmerWorld Remote-Mount Oil Pressure Sender Kit
Remote-mounting your 1/8" NPT pressure sender (oil or water) is good for space, access, and sensor reliability. Vibrations and heat can damage oil pressure senders. Mounting straight to the oil filter housing may cause too much vibration for the sender (regardless of motor mount). And some mounting locations and heat from other components can cause inaccurate readings. Relocating the sensor is a common solution to these potential problems. This kit can be used to remote mount any 1/8" NPT sender.
This kit includes 16 inches (1.3ft) of hose with 1/8 NPT adapters. This should be enough line to re-locate your oil pressure sender to another point on the engine bay. You will have to determine the final mounting location and either re-use a fixed mounting point or drill a new hole to mount the clamp (M5 screw). Two clamps are included that cover the majority of sender sizes on the market (small 3/4" KA type and larger 44mm VDO style).
Note: this should be used with an existing oil distribution block with 1/8 NPT ports (see link to BimmerWorld Sending Block below). This is not for re-locating your factory oil pressure sensor which should remain as close to its stock location for an accurate reading.
Senders are not included.
